Sea Ports & Dry Ports in Pakistan
Sea Ports In Pakistan:
Pakistan’s nearly whole trade is done by sea ports. It has
three big ports named as Karachi Port, Bin Qasim port, and Gwadar port.
Karachi Port
The oldest one is Karachi port. It has all facilities for
trade. It is and international standard
sea port.Karachi Port is the hub of Pakistan's major trading
by the sea as 95 percent of the overall international trade is conducted via
this port.
Bin Qasim port
Bin Qasim port, In the east of Karachi other port is built It has
eight berths for ships. Its also very important international trade terminal of
Pakistan.
THE GWADAR-( Deep-sea port)
Gwadar Port is situated on the Arabian
Sea at Gwadar in Baluchistan province of Pakistan. The port features
prominently in the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor plan, and is considered to
be a link between the Belt and Road Initiative and the Maritime Silk Road
projects.It is
located
near to international oil trade and sea shipping routes and being an integral
instrument of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), It holds
immense geo-strategic and geo-economic importance for both
countries.
Important Dry Ports in Pakistan
Federal Government of Pakistan decided in 1967 for dry ports plan in country
wide.Todays, The
Dry Ports managed by NLC are known for their client friendly facilities and
state-of-the-art infrastructure.The Dry Ports are adequately equipped with
latest scanners, weightbridges, cranes, reach stackers, top lifters, fork
lifters, tender fire crash, generators and mechanical brooms etc.
